Help! Strategic Business Giving – The Book Cover

I am in the process of finishing up my book, Strategic Business Giving: How Smart Companies Grow Their Bottom Line by Giving Back.  It will be published this fall by Love Your Life Publishing.  Christine Kloser, owner and author herself, has had her graphic artist working on my book cover.  And I remain confused which direction to go…

Which of these do you like?  I would appreciate your input.  Please leave me a comment.  Thanks!

Kalleigh, Annie and I pick number one.

  2. Diana Sterling Says:

I LOVE both – but I think number one may jump off the shelf better.

    D

  3. Elizabeth Wolf Says:

    Number one!

  4. karie taylor Says:

I pick No. 2 much cleaner. the title does not get lost in the picture

  5. Gail Larsen Says:

No 1 “speaks”! I like the idea of the dollar done like a necktie but it’s too drab here. The other comes alive.

  6. Audrey Suker Says:

I like the clean lines of option 2

  7. Katy Ronshausen Says:

i think # 1 is more powerful to me personally (it pops!), but i do agree that # 2 is cleaner and it may speak better to business professionals

  8. Bill Sterling Says:

I like #1 as well. It seems to be the one that attracts the eye for me.

  9. Brian J. Johnston Says:

Wouldn’t it depend on your primary target audience or type of company/person? I think #1 would apeal to the “warm/fuzzy/green-thinker” whereas #2 probably appeals to the “just give me the facts/data” type. Who is it you’re utimately trying to attract/impact? For me, I drift toward color, but I also like the clever use of the dollar as a ribbon…. (but, has the ribbon concept worn out its welcome?)

  10. Robert Denison Says:

I like both but give the edge to #1, #2 almost appears to “present” for what is going on in the ecomony and may become a little misleading.

  11. Maureen Says:

    Sue…

Definitely option number one. It has great color…very eyecatching…it evoked a “oneness” “universality” “the great cosmos”. It’s not just the money…that is why
I would not pick option 2. The dollar for me is a negative in terms of what you efforts are focused on.

  12. Dalene Says:

#1 is more pleasing to look at but kind of confused if this is a green strategy.

  13. Al Says:

    I really like number one.
    • It’s green — green is in and it speaks to my love of nature.
    • Green connotes growth.
    • The earth in the middle is a reminder that we’re all in this together and we live in a global economy, timely in light of the current economic meltdown.
    • The images on the other cover are geometric and all the colors are within the lines; they don’t invite or excite like the ones in number one.

  14. Christina Says:

The more I look at the green leaf/earth one, I wonder what is the connection between the photo and the concept of the book. It does feel like “growing”, but growing the world, and the book title is about bottom line. The individual company perspective is lost in the image. But I like the energy and softness of the cover over all.

  15. Margo Says:

I like #1. It’s softer and more appealing to me, even though it is a little busy.

  16. maggie Says:

    Hi Sue,

I like #2 because it has a cleaner look. #1 is too busy for me.

I like the one with the earth in it….

I like the first one as it has more depth to it… it also commands a closer look to see exactly what is going on there. Best of luck!

Number one grabs attention and looks great! Congratulations on the new site, Susan!
