Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. Annual Employee Volunteer Day – FERSTT Aid
The Charles Schwab Corporation sponsors an annual “FERSTT Aid Day” for its employees throughout the US. “FERSTT” is an acronym representing Schwab’s corporate values: fairness, empathy, responsiveness, striving, teamwork, and trust. On the May 25, 2006 FERSTT Aid Day, over 1,200 Schwab employees from nine cities spent a portion of the day doing charitable work in their communities with 50 nonprofit organizations. The selected nonprofits receive direct service from Schwab employees as well as a $1,000 grant.
In addition, Schwab encourages their employees to exercise their personal philanthropy during the month of May. Donations made by employees to their favorite charities in May receive a special match of 100% through the Employee Matching Gifts program. During the rest of the year, employee donations are match at $.50/$1.
